“Straight Trees hardly last long in the Forest” – NBA Zaria mourns Umar Aliyu SAN
We all received with rude shock the news of the unfortunate death of the learned Silk, Umar Aliyu SAN from Kano. The news immediately reminded me of the saying that straight trees hardly last long in the forest.
The learned Silk was a symbol of excellence, simplicity and humility.
He was never tired of teaching and extending helping hands to the younger ones. His erudition in litigation, particularly in criminal matters is legendary. That is the big vacuum that his death has created for the entire legal community in Nigeria.
I, on behalf of myself, the EXCO and entire members of NBA Zaria branch hereby commiserate with Kano and Ungogo branches of NBA over the loss of this quintessential legal icon.
Our condolences also go to the family and friends of the late Umar Aliyu SAN.
We pray Allah SWT to accept his gentle soul into Aljannat Firdausi.
