Sogunle, Badmus, Not dismissed From Police Force – PSC
The Police Service Commission, (PSC) has debunked the report on social media that it has dismissed Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abayomi Shogunle and Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Dolapo Badmus.
The commission stated that the purported list of the dismissal of 37 former Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) officials, including Badmus, a former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, and Shogunle, a former head of the police public compliant unit, who were linked to story making wave on social media, and other online platforms were actually done without verification from the right source.
The PSC’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, had come out to debunk the report on Saturday, saying it could not be true as the commission had not met. “The Commission did not sit yesterday and I am not aware of any dismissal. The Commission meets officially before any decision is taken and it has not met,” he said.
Report had it that as soon as the news went viral on social media, people started celebrating the alleged dismissal because the duo as active social media users had at one time or the other ran into conflict with young people.
