Police power to Prosecute: AG Lagos to hold Stakeholder’s meeting

The Attorney General of Lagos is set to hold Stakeholder’s meeting on whether or not to continue to allow lay policemen prosecute cases in the Magistrates courts in Lagos State

According to reports coming in, the Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice Lagos State, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo through the Committee he set up to advice him on the possibility or otherwise of removing lay police prosecutors from the Magistrate Courts in Lagos State will hold a Stakeholder’s meeting on Wednesday the 29th of January 2020.

The meeting is said to receive contributions from stakeholders to assist the AG’s Advisory Committee do a thorough job in rolling out its final report.

Stakeholders expected to be present are representatives of the Judiciary, the Police, the State House of Assembly, NBA, NGOs and the Press.
