NBA Nnewi Branch General Meeting Condemns Wanton Destruction Of Lives and Properties By Criminal Elements that Hijacked #ENDSARS Protest

The General Meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nnewi Branch, condemn the senseless wanton destruction of public and private lives and properties throughout the country, particularly the gruesome murder of three policemen at Osumenyi in Nnewi South LGA, the burning down of the Central Police Station and Area Command Nnewi, and other sundry looting of public and private properties across the nation.

 

The Branch sympathise with the families and relatives of the deceased persons and all those who lost their properties.

The Branch also send special condolences to the Commissioner of police, Anambra State, under whose command these carnage were carried out and urge the Police Command to be courageous, professional and law abiding in responding to the unfortunate events. The Branch further urge the Police not to deal with lawlessness with lawlessness. The investigation, arrest and possible prosecution of alleged culprits of the criminal incidents must be within the confines of the law.

Finally the Branch appeal to the police to return to their duty posts occupy the public space and forestall further breach of the public peace.
