NBA Nnewi Branch congratulates President-Elect, Olumide Akpata
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Nnewi Branch has hailed President elect, Olumide Anthony Akpata Esq., on his emergence as the 30th President of the Association.
In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Kingsley Awuka Esq. and Chinedu D. Igwegbe respectively, the branch urged all to rally support for the newly elected officers in the overall interest of the Legal Profession.
The statement reads “Pursuant to the Resolution of the General Meeting of NBA Nnewi Branch, we most joyfully and heartily congratulate Olumide Anthony Akpata Esq. on his election as the 30th President of the NBA.
“We also felicitate with the other elected National Officers.
“Olumide Anthony Akpata Esq. has demonstrated a delightful ability to achieve result and success in his undertakings and we are optimistic that as President of Nigerian Bar Association, he will be a success story! His resounding victory in the just concluded election is therefore well deserved.
“We have no doubts that Olumide Anthony Akpata Esq. will rebrand and improve the NBA through its core mandate of promoting the rule of law, human rights as well as the welfare of its Members. We look forward to having from him and his team an NBA that can work for all.
“We commend Paul Usoro SAN and his team for giving us an election devoid of unnecessary tension, bitterness and rancor.
“We offer all newly elected National Officers of the Nigerian Bar Association our wholehearted support as we hope they unite to justify the confidence reposed in them by Nigerian Lawyers.
“We also salute the courage and sportsmanship already exhibited by other contestants who did not score the highest number of votes cast in the election. We urge them to remain resolute and steadfast in putting the overall interest of the Bar over and above personal and small group interests. We pray them to rally support for the newly elected officers in the overall interest of the Legal Profession.
