Fixing the legal profession is our collective responsibility – Dr Ajibade
Managing Partner of S. P. A. Ajibade & Co, Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN has called on legal practitioners to close ranks in a bid to fixing the myriads of problems facing the profession.
The Learned Silk made the call during an interactive session with lawyers in Owerri yesterday. “The legal profession today is faced with the threats of disrespect by the larger society, infiltration by quacks, other professionals taking away jobs meant to be done solely by lawyers, among other issues. We cannot fold our hands and expect change to happen. Reforming and repositioning the profession to regain its lost glory is the collective responsibility of all lawyers and we must close ranks and come together to advance our common interests as lawyers” he said.
Members of the NBA Owerri Branch, who attended the event, expressed excitement at the responses Dr. Ajibade gave to the various issues they raised during the interactive session and commended him for his contribution to legal development in the country.
