Confirmed: Olumide Akpata to contest NBA Presidency in 2020

Top Lawyer Olumide Akpata will contest the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Presidency in 2020, can authoritatively report. There has been speculation among lawyers on whether the ex-NBA-SBL boss will contest the top position, but speaking with barristerNG, a close associate of Mr Akpata confirmed that, indeed, Mr Akpata is prepared and only waiting for the ban on campaign to be lifted before formerly declaring his intentions.

Powerful, Rich, a Lawyer of means, a big name within the Association and a very close friend of the NBA President, Paul Usoro SAN, Mr Akpata is rumored as Mr Usoro’s choice of successor. Olu Akpata is often called upon to speak at local and international conferences and seminars and currently sits on the Council of the Nigeria Bar Association Section on Business Law. He is also the Vice-Chair (West-Africa) of the International Bar Association’s Africa Regional Forum.
