It must be stated that the awardees were carefully selected based on their track records in the legal profession, sheer support for YLF and their responsiveness towards the Forum. For the record, what we considered most importantly in giving these Awards to the selected personalities is their unparalleled love and unflinching support for YLF. The Awardees have supported and associated with us more than any other person. As a result, they are worthy to be honoured, they will be so honoured.
While John Mayokun Dada and J. S Muhammad will be honoured with ‘Award of Excellence’ for their excellent performances while in office, other Awardees will receive Award of Honour and Recognition.
The Outgoing Executive will also use the opportunity to decorate Chief R. O Balogun as Ambassador of YLF ilorin for his exceptional support to the forum and having been so appointed by the Executive.
In fulfillment of the promise made by this Executive to honour our members for their exceptional services and contributions, 3 members of the forum have been shortlisted to receive ‘YLF Ilorin Medal of Honour’ for their exceptional dedication and commitment. The first on our list is Osagbemi Gideon Olakunle popularly called Legallion who did not miss a single Monthly General Meeting of the Forum and would always arrive long before the commencement of the meeting. The only gift received by the Outgoing administration from members was from a couple: Mr Usman Biola Abdulrasheed and Mrs MAZ Usman. For the sake of emphasis, this beautiful couple presented Pen and note Pads writing materials used at the Forum’s 2019 retreat. Jolted by the reasons stated above and to further encourage our members on commitment, these trio will be honoured with ‘YLF Ilorin Medal of Honour’ in the forthcoming Award Night.
Similarly, a very vibrant youth, non Lawyer though, Mr Kayode Adeoti of National Pilot who has promoted and positively projected YLF through his journalism by constantly reporting the activities of YLF and Young Lawyers in ilorin on the page of their newspaper: National Pilot will be honoured with our Medal.
On the same day and at the same venue, the Outgoing Executive will transfer baton to the Executive Elect.
