Anambra State Government Congratulates Joyce Oduah, FICMC on Her Emergence as NBA General Secretary
The Anambra State Government through its Commissioner for Information & Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba, has congratulated Joyce Oduah, FICMC on her landslide victory at the just concluded NBA National Election. In a congratulatory letter signed by Mr. Adinuba, the State Government took pride in Mrs. Joyce Oduah on her recent trailblazing election as the General Secretary of the NBA.
The Hon. Commissioner stated that it is indeed remarkable and worth celebrating that Mrs Joyce Oduah defeated her co-contestants with overwhelming votes to become the first female General Secretary of the NBA from Anambra State and the second female General Secretary after 39 years. He stated also that there is no doubt whatsoever that Mrs. Oduah will bring the redoubtable panache of the hardworking Anambra woman to bear on the jinx-breaking leadership of Anthony Olumide Akpata, the newly elected NBA President. In expressing further his confidence in Mrs. Oduah’s capacity to deliver on her mandate, the Hon. Commissioner stated as follows:
“As a formidable partner with Akpata as President and the other elected executives, your NBA is poised to fight for the oppressed, the marginalized and the neglected in not just the legal oppression but also in the larger society. Your support base is quite intimidating as you won overwhelmingly based on your team’s pledge to work in solidarity with junior lawyers.
As a profound Daughter of Anambra, as you are fondly addressed, I trust that you will live up to the promise of providing health insurance for all lawyers and end all forms of abuse in the workplace. Armed with the pedigree of your esteemed family that counts Nigeria’ greatest constitutional authority, Prof Ben Nwabueze, as a paragon, I am heartily assured that you will excel”
