Unprecedented: 161 bags 1st class as Law School releases 2018 Bar Final Result
The Council of Legal Education has released the result of the Bar Final Examination conducted in August 2018.
In a notice released by the DG, Prof Isa Hayatu Chiroma SAN, Out of a total number of 5,846 students who participated in the August Examination, a total number of 4, 633 (79.25%) students emerged successfull.
While a total number of 218 (3.73%) candidates graduated with conditional pass;
A total number of 965 (16.51%) candidates failed the examination And 30 (0.51%) of the candidates were recorded absent.
Outstandingly, a total number of 161 (2.75%) candidates graduated with a FIRST CLASS. This is the first time such result is recorded in the history of Bar examinations.
Other results are;
Candidates graded in second class upper; 695 (11.89%)
Candidates graded in second class Lower: 1, 276 (21.83%)
Candidates in pass: 2,501 (42.78%)
The above translates in percentage as follows:
Pass – 79.25%
Conditional Pass – 3.73%
Fail – 16. 51%
In view of the above, the Call to Bar ceremonies for the successful candidates will hold on the 27th, 28th and 29th November, 2018.
