The Nigerian Police Force, Kwara State Command has commenced investigation into the allegations levelled against Hon Ganiyu Abolarin representing Isapa/Ekiti and Hon Owolabi Razaq representing Share/Oke Odo, Kwara State following the petition addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Ilorin by Leadership Appraisal Forum, LAF calling on the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun to investigate the case and bring the law makers to book.

The news is rife, particularly on social media over allegations of assault meted out to Mr Ogundokun Saheed and his friends by both Hon Ganiyu Abolarin and Owolabi Razaq of Kwara State House of Assembly. As a result of the beaten and assault, Mr Ogundokun was said to have sustained serious injury with his tooth removed, he lost consciousness and rushed to a nearby Anchor Hospital, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State where he later gained consciousness.

Recall that BarristerNG earlier reported how the duo lawmakers were alleged to have lead about 8 thugs to Ogundokun’s house and attack him and other people living with him. Despite the fact that he lost consciousness, Mr Ogundokun, with his friends was arrested and detained at F’ Division, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State on the allegation that he is illegal occupant. Mr Ogundokun Saheed is a tenant to Hon Ganiyu Abolarin of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

BarristerNG gathered that the commissioner of police, Ilorin has commenced investigation into the case. The Deputy Commissioner of Police leads the investigation team.

The two law makers, with their lawyers were at the police headquarters yesterday to write statement. They were later released on self recognizance pending the outcome of full investigation.
