“NBA Presidency: Regional Candidate Adoption: What does it Mean to Your Vote? by Chief Nnamdi A. Ekenna
Why the belly-aching? Like President Barack Obama told the electorate during the United States Presidential campaign of 2016 – DON’T BOO, VOTE !!
Adoption of a candidate does not marginalize your individual suffrage, there is nothing in such a Regional action that is mandatory as to how you cast your vote. You, the electorate have the final say – if you go out and vote for your candidate of choice, you are assuring your opinion matters – by action, more than a-thousand words on social media.
If you are complaisant and think that popularity alone without your actual vote will entrench your candidate, you are completely wrong. I ask that we all learn from the results of the last U.S. Presidential elections, many booed but did not vote – RESULT, the candidate they did not wish elected won – AFTERMATH, they took to the streets in protest, but by then it was already TOO LATE.
Don’t wait until it becomes too late, don’t hope on resorting to protests after the fact – DON’T JUST BOO, GO OUT AND VOTE FOR THE PERSON YOU BELIEVE IS THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. And remember, the Candidate Endorsement is only from one Region, there are many more Regions that count and matter, there are more Lawyers, in number, in those other Regions combined, than in the Region whose endorsement worry you so much.
Exercise Your Right, don’t boo, VOTE !!!”
