Hilarious: NBA Annual Financial Report by Ngozi Udodi (As presented at NBA AGM 2018)
REPORT BY THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY NGOZI
MARTHA UDODI TO NEC/ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2018
1.00 Distinguished NEC members, it is my pleasure to say big welcome to Abuja to witness the last NEC/Annual Conference in the life of this administration led by AB Mahmoud SAN, OON, President of Nigerian Bar Association.
1.01 Upon assumption of office in August 2016 I made a pledge to NBA to vigorously pursue the financial situation and be in constant touch with the branches and their officers to ensure that all their members pay their annual dues, practicing fees and levies as at when due. As in pursuant to S.18 (3) (5) (J) of our NBA constitution.
1.02 The issues of practicing fees had been holistically justified through the NBA National Officers Election where both candidates and voters pay their practicing fees as criteria for been eligible to vote, any member with uncleared payment, NBA data base verification exercise will shut him up. In pursuant to rules 9 (1) – (3) of the rules of Professional conduct legal practitioners are expected to pay their practicing fees in full before the 31st of March of every year.
1.03 My next activity as a National Financial Secretary was the attendance of conferences in USA, UK and Ghana in 2017. The conference actually brought together Bar leaders of several African Countries. This was attended in company of some National Officers and our NBA President AB Mahmoud SAN, OON. I actually enjoyed every aspect of our tenor. The best Exco ever had in history of Nigeria Bar Association.
I thank Almighty God for the opportunity given to serve.
Wishing all NEC members journey mercies to your respective destinations.
You are blessed.
National Financial Secretary
