Former Taraba Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary is Dead
A former Solicitor General of Taraba State, Magaji Aji Esq, is dead.
His death was announced by the Taraba NBA in a social media post.
Mr Aji was called to the Bar in 1984 and served in many capacities including, Solicitor General of Taraba State and Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Justice, Taraba State.
Upon retirement, he founded his own law firm, Magaji Aji and Associates and was principal associate until his death.

The entire lawyers in Taraba State woke up with the sad news of the demise of Magaji Aji Esq, the former Solicitor General of Taraba State who died at Specialist hospital, Jalingo, Taraba State.
Magaji Aji Esq no doubt was a great man whose contributions to the legal profession is invaluable. He was a humble person and very committed to seeing the best in his fellow human being.
Magaji Aji was a product of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1980-1983 after his diploma in law. Upon his graduation from Ahmadu Bello University, he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School Lagos from 1983 to 1984 where he was called to the Bar.
He had his compulsory Youth Service programme (NYSC) at the law firm of Shettima, Liberty and Co, Maiduguri, Borno State and upon completion of his programme joined the Ministry of Justice, Gongola State as State Counsel II where he rose through the ranks. Upon the creation of Taraba State, he redeployed his service to the State as Senior State Counsel and later as Principal State Counsel, Director and finally Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, a position he held from 2007-2012. He later became the Permanent Secretary, House of Assembly Service Commission from March, 2012 to December, 2012. In 2013, he was the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission from 2013 to 2014. He was later redeployed to Ministry of Justice as its Permanent Secretary from 2014 to 2015. He later became the Permanent Secretary, House of Assembly Service Commission again from 2014 to 2015 where he retired.
Upon retirement from Taraba State Government, he established his personal law firm, Magaji Aji and Associates in Jalingo where he was Principal/ Consultant. He contested for a seat at the Federal House of Representative in Wukari his constituency before his demise. Adieu Magaji Aji Esq, Adieu our own Solicitor General.
