Former NBA 1st VP and Past Chair Port Harcourt Branch, George Akuro is dead
Former 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and former Chairman of Port Harcourt Branch, Rivers state, Chief George Akuro is dead.
The former VP died on monday morning, the 7th day of January, 2019 after a brief illness.
Called to Bar in 1981, Chief Akuro served the Nigerian Bar in different capacities.
At the branch level he was a former Secretary, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman respectively of the Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt branch.
At the National Level Chief Akuro served as the 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association under Olisa Agbakoba, SAN administration.
Until his death, he was the principal partner of Akuro R. George & Associates (Tamunokuro Chambers).
Close friends and associates described the late former VP as a decent Bar man, refined gentleman and a peace maker.
May his soul rest in peace.
