FIDA Benue Elects new Executives as Mary Onyeka emerges Chairperson
The FIDA Nigeria Benue branch has on the 7th day of September 2018 elected new officials to run her affairs for the next three years, they are :
Mrs Mary Onyeka- Chairperson
Mrs Ada Ode Jack -vice Chairperson
Mrs Maureen Igyor- Secretary
Mrs Regina Alashi – Assistant Secretary
Mrs Priscilla Iveren Chiga – Treasurer
Mrs Stephanie Manyam – Financial Secretary
Mrs Awashima Addingi – Publicity Secretary and
Mrs Fatima Akintomide – Assistant Publicity Secretary.
The new Exco comes on board to take over from the old Exco who had been in office for over 12 (Twelve) years led by Mrs Margaret N. Atu
On the 7th day of September 2018, in accordance with the 2012 FIDA National Constitution, a 3-woman electoral committee was nominated and approved by the house namely Mrs Maimuna M. Ikwulono as Chief electoral officer, Mrs Tonia Yaji, secretary and Regina Ochekulu esq as member. This committee was approved by the house.
Nominations were then made by members for the eight elective posts and seconded as follows:
1.Mrs Mary Onyeka chairperson
2. Mrs Ada Ode Jack- Vice Chairperson
3. Mrs Maureen Igyor – Secretary
4. Mrs Regina Alashi – Assistant Secretary
5. Mrs Awashima M. Addingi – Publicity secretary
6. Mrs Fatima Akintomide – Assistant publicity secretary
7. Mrs Stephanie Manyam – financial secretary and
8. Mrs Priscilla Iveren Chiga as Treasurer.
The Chief electoral officer called for more nominations but their were none. She then called on the house to further confirm if this were their nominations and when they unanimously agreed, she informed the house that there was therefore no need to cast votes. She then announced the result of the election and declared them duly elected by virtue of section 16 (I). The new Exco then took oath of office and the committee was dissolved by a seconded mention.
The New Chairperson, Mrs Mary Onyeka, on behalf of the entire Exco, then thanked the over 30 members present for the confidence reposed in them and promised to work with all members of the branch to move FIDA Benue forward.
She urged all members to see that moving FIDA forward was going to be a collective effort and to do this, all hands must be on deck.
