40-year-old man hangs self in Kano

A 40-year-old employee of Tarish College, Kawaji, Dakata area of Kano State, Femi Oguntomi, allegedly hanged himself in Kano on Friday.

Femi was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room.

He was confirmed dead at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.

Spokesman for the police in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to Haruna, the state Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Mohammed, had ordered an investigation into the incident.

Also, the state fire service has rescued three children and two adults trapped in a building which collapsed at Dandago Babanbaki in Gwale Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesman for the fire service in the state, Saidu Mohammed, said a three-year-old boy was among those rescued from the building which collapsed at about 3.19pm on Friday.

 

According to Mohammed, those who suffered varying degrees of injury were rushed to Murtala Specialist Hospital for treatment.
